Dr. Zhao Gang is the Vice Director of the Renewable Energy and New Energy International Cooperation Planning Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology and National Development and Reform Commission. This agency is responsible for international policy, R&D, investment in technology,and for advancing the development and application of new and renewable energy technologies in China and around the world. Recently, Dr. Zhao has been accompanying China’s Ministry of Science and Technology Minister Wan Gang on his official visit to the U.S.
China has embarked on a path of large scale investment and adoption of advanced energy technologies, and plays an essential role in a number of important industry segments, including large scale wind, solar, and fuel cell technologies. Dr. Zhao has been a strong supporter of efforts to build an advanced energy bridge between Northern Ohio and China. His presence here represents the next step in an ongoing collaboration with our region. Ohio currently has hundreds of companies in the wind supply chain and is actively pursuing its place as a leader in the international wind market. The discussion will include opportunities for growth and further collaboration between China and Northeast Ohio.
