One of the central goals of the CWRU strategic planning process was to “enhance the international character of the university” while “increasing involvement in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.” The Office of International Affairs was created to develop a university-wide international strategy. Alongside the planning process, the Dean of Engineering, Norman Tien, and David Fleshler, Associate Provost, have forged a relationship with Tianjin University to facilitate the exchange of students and explore research and commercialization opportunities in the advanced energy space.
