We are thrilled to celebrate the Cleveland Council on World Affairs centennial with a special Centennial Global Impact Award event on October 19, 2023, at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The Centennial Global Impact Award event will celebrate the first 100 years of CCWA and look forward to the next century of engaging the Cleveland community in world affairs.

This celebration of CCWA’s centennial, mission, and program impact in the community includes the presentation of two awards:

CENTENNIAL GLOBAL IMPACT AWARD
Honoring the U.S. Diplomatic Corps, past and present, for serving and representing the United States on the global stage. Ambassador Anne Patterson will accept the award on behalf of American Diplomats.

DR. WAEL KHOURY AWARD FOR EMERGING GLOBAL LEADER
Honoring Baiju R. Shah, President & CEO of Greater Cleveland Partnership, for his work in promoting our region’s international economic outreach.

SPECIAL PRIVATE RECEPTION AND SAKE TASTING
Impact Ticket holders and Sponsors at the $7,000 level and above are invited to join us for a special private reception to delve into the world of sake as we uncover its complexities and vibrant flavors. This unique sake tasting is offered in partnership with the Consul General of Japan in Detroit Yusuke Shindo.

CCWA’s signature event will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

The proceeds from the event will support the Council’s educational programs. The Council inspires engagement in international affairs and world cultures through education, citizen diplomacy and public dialogue. As we begin our second century, this work is more important than ever.
