April 28, 2021
The 2021 Global Impact Award honors Dr. Robert M. Gates, former U.S. Secretary of Defense, for his distinguished career in national security. Dr. Gates will receive CCWA’s Global Impact Award and deliver the Brooks Emeny Distinguished Lecture before taking part in a moderated conversation regarding his newest book, Exercise of Power: American Failures, Successes, and a New Path Forward in the Post-Cold War World. Dr. Gates will also engage in a Q & A session with attendees.
At this year’s event, the Cleveland Council on World Affairs will also celebrate and highlight our Global Competency Training program. This program prepares our community to succeed in today’s globalized environment and to respond to the common challenges we face in this increasingly global, interconnected world. As a special benefit this year, we offer our sponsors and supporters access to our Global Competency training. Click here to learn more about the Global Competency Training for our Sponsors.
CCWA’s signature event will be held virtually on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 6:00PM. Link(s) to the virtual event will be sent by email closer to the event. CCWA staff will contact sponsors and supporters directly about participating in the Global Competency Training.
